An IP puller for xbox or IP grabber is a tool or software program that enables a user to reveal the IP addresses of other players in an Xbox Live gaming session. It works by exploiting the Xbox Live network in order to retrieve IP information that is normally hidden or protected. Specifically, when players connect to Xbox Live to play multiplayer games, their consoles establish networking connections with each other directly using IP addresses. However, for privacy and security reasons, Xbox Live obscures these IP addresses from normal view. An IP puller overcomes this by sending specially crafted network packets or manipulated connection requests to the Xbox Live servers. These trick the servers into disclosing the actual IP addresses of the other connected players back to the user running the puller.
