Lauren

Washington Chapter Communications Manager

Lauren (she/her) is a second-generation Filipina Morena American, born and raised in Seattle, Washington. As a child, she spent hours at the tidepools during low tide, mesmerized by the tiny, bustling worlds beneath the water. Her love of the natural world grew on road trips in her uncle’s 1970s VW Vanagon, where camping under starlit skies became a ritual, and at annual family reunions at Lake Chelan, where laughter, shared meals, and the shimmering lake revealed how deeply nature and community are intertwined.

At the University of Idaho, Lauren began studying pre-veterinary medicine but shifted to conservation biology after finding a passion for environmental science. Rooted in equity and relationship-building, she thrives at the intersection of big ideas and community engagement.

Lauren is committed to fostering inclusive, supportive spaces that connect curiosity with career pathways, helping newcomers find their voice and confidence in the outdoors. She is excited to bring her love of nature and community to Outdoor Asian.
